  首先我们来看句式结构的多样性:例如:

  First,  the reading passage suggests that…, but the professor argues in the lecture that … This is because…, which means…

  大家一看就知道上面这个版本比较low,理由很简单。托福综合写作通常是三个驳论段,如果都用表示转折的过渡词如but, however, while, nevertheless等,不可避免的三个段落在结构上就重复的!南哥支招,除了表示转折的结构,我们还有让步的结构可用呢,如:

  First, even though the reading passage suggests that…, the professor argues in the lecture that …

  First, Despite the statement in  the reading  that…, the professor argues in the lecture that …

  几种结构交替使用,那么重复的可能性就几乎没有了。

  其次,我们在看下驳论的切题性,我们还以上面的段落模板为例。

  First,  the reading passage suggests that…, but the professor argues in the lecture that … This is because…, which means…

  驳论部分是每一个主体段的核心,其精彩之处在于论证的切题以及表达细节时句式结构的多样。在上段中,驳论部分需要我们填三个空:第一个空是听力文章的分论点一,第二和第三空是递进式对这一分论点的细节支持。重点在于我们的第二空和第三空是否能够以简洁的语言把听力文章的细节支持概括!再者就是我们是否可以利用并列句,分词短语,非限定性定语从句将这些内容整合起来!举例如下:

  First,  despite the statement in the reading passage that the carved stone balls were used as weapons in hunting and fighting, the professor claims in the lecture that the theory is unconvincing, arguing that the well-preserved surface of the balls does not conform to the fact that weapons,such as arrow heads and axes, are commonly wared heavily even broken.(TPO33)

  最后,我们在来看看段落的完整性这个点,南哥建议,在每一个驳论段的结尾处,给段落加上一个总结性的结论句!这样做的好处是:以防段落主题写跑偏,我们用这个结论句王辉拽这点,不至于跑的太偏,另外,有这个结论句,整个段落看起来就更完整!例如:

  First,  despite the statement in the reading passage that the carved stone balls were used as weapons in hunting and fighting, the professor claims in the lecture that the theory is unconvincing, arguing that the well-preserved surface of the balls does not conform to the fact that weapons,such as arrow heads and axes, are commonly wared heavily even broken. Obviously, the consumption in the reading is severely weakened.
